- What is an SPF record?
- A TXT record that lists the servers allowed to send email for your domain. Receivers check it to decide whether a message claiming to be from you is real.
- Why does the 10 lookup limit matter?
- Every include, a, mx and redirect costs a DNS lookup. Past 10, SPF returns a permanent error and your mail fails authentication everywhere, even though the record looks fine.
- Should I use -all or ~all?
- -all tells receivers to reject mail from unlisted servers; ~all marks it suspicious. Start with ~all while you confirm every sending service is included, then switch to -all.
